Discovery
Discovery tasks including a kick-off/ discovery workshop, current state assessment, and competitive analysis.
Kick-off Workshop
Prepared and conducted 2.5-day kick-off and discovery workshop with four colleagues and 10 PCG department representatives to understand pain points and future aspirations.
App Assessment
Detailed current state app assessment was completed to make sure we had a thorough understanding of the different pages, tasks, and functionality that was scattered throughout.
Define
Created a new application architecture then outlined user flows for the primary tasks focused experiences.
Application Architecture
This Task-Based approach for the application architecture challenged the original organization of the software to be more aligned with needs and goals of end users instead of aligning with how PCG was structured internally.
Primary sections:
1) Dashboard
2) Assessments
3) Curriculum
4) Performance
5) Rosters
User Flows
Created 3 desktop and 4 mobile user flows to outline the features, functionality, and task orders required to access or complete primary tasks available based on device.
Architect
Interactive wireframes were created during 3 iterative phases to architect unique tasks required for desktop and mobile separately, which amounted to over 50 unique pages.
Desktop Wireframes
The 25 desktop wireframes were all created for the primary tasks of teachers who are responsible for juggling multiple tasks and responsibilities throughout the day.
Mobile Wireframes
The 25 mobile wireframes were created for new mobile experiences that would allow teachers, parents, and students to be more connected. These tasks include taking a test, managing coursework, and tracking progress.
Design
I worked closely with two visual designers to establish a consistent design language across key application pages throughout the experience.
Next Steps
We handed the approved architecture and design assets to the client for a collaborative development phase.
